NECOA Executive Board
Conf. call meeting minutes 3/12/2008 at 1:00 PM
1. Reviewed and approved the meeting minutes from the 1/15/08 meeting at HAFB.
2. CDR Mark McClain congratulated new and reelected Executive Board Members
3. LT Christopher vanTwuyver announced that LCDR
4. LCDR Fajardo introduced items that could be marketed by NECOA, the first item was a drink coaster which would cost $12.99 each if purchased in increments of 100 units, and the cost could be reduced to $8.99 if 500 units are ordered. LCDR Fajardo also discussed a PHS soft vinyl briefcase which she will determine a final cost on and report back at the next board meeting. This discussion will continue at the next Executive Board meeting
5. LT vanTwuyver discussed updating the NECOA website to include marketing of the PHS officer’s cards sourced by LCDR Emerson. The Board discussed the possibility to set up a pay pal account, two members committed to investigate what is required to set up the account and will report back at the next meeting.
6. LT Guardia reported that he had investigated the possibility of offering a BLS refresher course at HAFB during a meeting to be scheduled in May; LT Guardia wanted to combine the course with steak night at the base and planned to offer the instructors a steak dinner for their efforts.
7. The board agreed to forward the recently received National COA membership information from LT Wiegers to the Retention and Recruitment Sub-committee for them to work on contacting officers listed as being paid National COA members, but not affiliated with NECOA. LT Guardia volunteered to get this done.
8. LT Guardia asked if CDR Perlman had been able to draft a form that could be used if any board members were approved to get any possible NECOA financial sponsorship to the COA symposium in June. CDR Perlman agreed to work on this task and get something out soon to the board members.
9. CDR Perlman reported that NECOA had $1677.17 in its checking account and $25.00 in the savings account.
