COA Executive Meeting 2-25-05

Call to order 1315

Attendance: LCDR Erich Kleinschmidt, President, LT Tim Pappalardo, Treasurer, LT Chris Vantwyer, Vice President, LCDR Kelly Valente, Secretary

Items discussed:

1) Checkbook not sent to Tim to date.

Chris will notify Karen to remind her

2) Erich would like and updated dues reminder, can be emailed or sent out to membership. A volunteer is needed for development of this, ( Maybe someone from the general membership?)

3) COA Function

Erich mentioned maybe we could get a speaker to attend a Membership meeting. Erich suggested former Surgeon General Koop, who lives in New Hampshire. Tim suggested a co-sponsored even with another Military Coalition Organization.

4) COA National Conference

Erich Suggested the Kelly be the New England Chapter representative to the conference. Kelly stated her supervisors would need to approve this.

5) Next Membership Meeting

We need a meeting for April/May/June and July/ August/ September. The committee decided to have the meeting in different locations around New England. Kelly volunteered to develop a family- friendly meeting for July in Newport, RI. Chris volunteered to develop a meeting in Vermont or Maine.

6) Volunteerism

Tim discussed our mission in COA, whether we are career oriented group or a volunteer organization. Tim also mentioned that volunteerism is good PR for our chapter.

7) Next Membership meeting

Chris talked about having state representatives to report at each membership meetings and a regional representative.

8) Next Executive Meeting

March 25, 2005 at 1pm- Kelly is to bring the Associate Recruiter Program Booklet.
